District Names
All districts have selected a district name (this will include the
non-geographic Pathfinder district.) At the Key-3 meeting April 28, the
current District Key-3 members decided the guidelines for the new district
names. These are:
- Cannot be any of the current district names (Arrowhead,
Comanche, Green Dickson, Longhorn, Pathfinder, Pioneer, Tejas, Tomahawk, Twin
Valley, Wolf Mountain);
- Must conform to the theme(s) of:
- Texas flora/fauna
- Texas geographic features (which includes Texas Rivers)
- Names may be historic names that had been used prior to 1989.
Each of the new district's submitted their name choices to the RASD
committee. The approved names for the new districts are:
